Short-term and long-term disability insurance replaces a portion of your income while you are recovering from an illness or injury.

Asurion provides core STD and LTD automatically to eligible employees. You have the option to purchase additional disability protection during your benefits enrollment as a new hire, or during Annual Benefits Enrollment.

 

Short-term disability

If you have five years of service, you are automatically enrolled in the STD and LTD Buy-up options at no cost to you.

Adoption Assistance Program

The Adoption Assistance Program provides financial assistance with the costs associated with adopting a child. You’re eligible to participate in the program if you work an average of 30 hours per week and you can begin using the benefit the first of the month following 60 days of employment. Adoption Assistance is not available for stepchildren or blood-relative adoptions.

Reimbursement Amounts

  • $2,500 reimbursement per adoption ($5,000 lifetime maximum) for employees with 1-4 years of service
  • $5,000 reimbursement per adoption ($10,000 lifetime maximum) for employees with 5 or more years of service

How to Apply for Adoption Assistance
Go to Asurion Benefits Central, click on Reimbursement Accounts, then click the Adoption Account option.

Decisions are made within 10 business days after receiving all required documentation.

 

Child and Elder Care Discounts

Asurion offers the following discounts and resources for child and elder care:

  • Discounts on elder care, including independent living and memory care
  • Discounts on childcare
  • In-depth access to caregivers’ profiles
  • Digital access to empower employees to resolve caregiving challenges
  • Medication and appointment tracking and document storage for elders

No matter which medical plan you’re enrolled in, you can set aside money on a pre-tax basis to pay for eligible daycare expenses during your new hire benefits enrollment or Annual Benefits Enrollment.

 

Au Pair

Choosing childcare isn’t an easy decision. Cultural Au Pair helps families meet the need for quality, flexible and dependable childcare. With the exclusive discount for Asurion employees, Cultural Au Pair can be an affordable childcare option for working parents.
